How I turned 50 feeling healthier, fitter and stronger than ever.

At 50, I feel the healthiest I’ve ever been. Discover how I lost over a stone, improved my wellbeing during peri- and post-menopause, and found balance with nutrition, movement, and mindful living.

When I turned 50 in April 2025, I made a promise to myself: this was going to be the year I felt fitter, healthier, and more confident than ever before. Looking back at a photo from 2022 (see below), I couldn’t believe the difference. My clothes fit better, I have more energy, and I’ve proven to myself, and to my clients, that it’s possible to thrive in the peri- and post-menopausal years.

My goal wasn’t just about losing weight (though I did want to shift around a stone). It was about:

  • Feeling healthier day-to-day
  • Having more energy
  • Reducing headaches and ulcers
  • Inspiring others that midlife can be a time of growth, not decline

I turned back to Noom, which had worked for me in the past, and also tried a 10-day reset with Chloe Myers and #thebeplan.

I’ll admit it: I’ve always been skeptical about products. After years of being “sold to,” I didn’t want quick fixes or fads. But I was ready to experiment, especially because I was struggling with regular headaches and my son was missing school due to low immunity.

Here’s what made the difference:

  • Fruit & Veg Capsules: Just 2 of each daily, alongside a balanced diet. Four months in, my headaches have disappeared and my ulcers are nearly gone. My son’s attendance has improved too.
  • Luminate Sachets: A handy energy boost, I use them about twice a week on busy days.
  • Shakes & the Revive & Thrive Programme: These were a game-changer. I swapped some breakfasts for smoothies with shake powder, hazelnut milk, oats, seeds, berries, and spinach. They keep me full longer, reduce sugar cravings, and fit easily into my routine.

In August, we spent 10 days in France. I kept up with my shakes and even started running again (just 1 mile a day). Yes, I enjoyed croissants, French bread, and wine, but I was far more mindful about what I ate. Returning home a stone lighter than I was in May feels amazing.

Now, I feel more in control, healthier, and excited to help others do the same. If you’re navigating the challenges of midlife health, peri- or post-menopause, or simply want to feel better in your body, this approach works.
