Never have I been so relieved to see Spring arriving! It feels like we’re emerging from a very long winter. But it’s hard not to feel positive when Spring is here. The next few weeks will see the clocks going forward and the gradual easing of lockdown – more daylight and more people! And, of course, the return to outdoor exercise.
The Easter weekend is also fast-approaching and with it the chance to meet up with people outside of our households. (And maybe a little chocolate treat or two. All in moderation, of course.) Although schools have only been back a few weeks, it will be just the right time for a long weekend and spend time outdoors with a few extra family members or friends.
Spring in particular brings a sense of rebirth, thanks to budding leaves, blossom, more sunlight and fields full of tiny lambs. It will be interesting to see if lockdown has resulted in a baby boom -and if it has, won’t it be wonderful for new parents to get out and about with their babies to meet other new parents and make baby friends.
With babies in mind, I’m so pleased to be making plans for my Buggy Fitness classes to start again after Easter. I will be able to confirm details nearer the time, as we get confirmation from the government, but everything crossed that the roadmap goes to plan. If you have a new baby, these sessions give you the opportunity to exercise outdoors, which instantly lifts your mood and soul. As well as the physical fitness element, Buggy Fitness offers a much-needed support network for new mums as well as a chance for you to take some much-needed ‘me time’. Essential mental health care as well.
I’m also planning to get my other classes and PT sessions off the screen and into the park (while still offering an online option). Take a look at the sessions I offer and make this Spring the time you spring into action for yourself.
