Mindset, menopause and a healthy perspective ~ 4th August 2025

When you’re just not feeling it, and that’s ok!

Most days, I show up here with positive energy, ready to lift others up. But today, I’m not quite there. It’s Day 2 of my period, the heaviest day, and usually the hardest. Last night I was up twice, which means today started with low energy and an even lower mood!

I’m grateful that it’s really only this one day that tends to hit me hard each month. I know others are not as fortunate. Still, today feels like a struggle. It’s grey, drizzly, and windy outside, which definitely isn’t helping my mindset. I’m in a bit of a funk and trying hard to pull myself out of it.

One thing I’ve learned is that acknowledging the tough days is a form of strength. You don’t have to be relentlessly upbeat to be resilient. Sometimes, simply showing up, in whatever way you can, is enough. That might mean slowing down, stepping back, or just sitting with how you feel.

So today I’ll give myself a little grace. Maybe I’ll go for another walk later, I’ve got a herbal tea on the go now and know that this feeling isn’t forever. Tomorrow’s a new day, and even if the sun doesn’t come out, I can. I might even go for a run. Still searching for a new exercise regime for me, alongside netball…
