We’ve had a fabulous summer with a great holiday, trips out and lots of laughs (shortly after this photo was taken, I was soaked by a huge wave and this proved to be very entertaining for lots of people – most I didn’t even know).
I can’t deny though it is good to get back into the routine with the children being back at school. Throughout the school holidays I have managed to keep to my regular morning runs and eating habits have generally been ok, but of course some “treats” have made their way into my diet and I have enjoyed them without guilt.
The good habits have been formed over the preceding weeks and months though and are therefore fully established in my lifestyle. I often tell my clients about the 80/20 rule; if you eat well 80% of the time, your body can cope with the 20% when it goes a bit pear-shaped.
I am loving Davina’s sugar-free book: https://www.waterstones.com/book/davina-s-5-weeks-to-sugar-free/davina-mccall/9781409157656 and most of the recipes are proving to be a hit with the rest of the family, particularly the snack ideas.
Whether you have children at school or not, why not use the next 6 weeks to make some positive changes to your exercise and diet, you’ll be amazed how much better you feel?
Notice when you are judging things as good or bad. Pause. Tell yourself there doesn’t need to be good or bad: life happens. Feel light and free.
