Bump to Birth…

I once read a quote that went something along the lines of this:

You wouldn’t take part in a marathon without doing any training, the same is true of pregnancy.

Following an appropriate training programme is essential to ensure a comfortable pregnancy; the ability to cope with the birth and a quicker recovery once the baby has arrived.

I can not only talk from my extensive knowledge here but also my own experiences. I exercised throughout both of my pregnancies and in fact with my son I taught an aerobics class the night before my contractions started. I know this made a huge difference for the duration of the nine months and beyond, I was strong both physically and mentally.

The focus definitely changes, it is no longer about improving your reps or weights week by week, it is about maintaining the fitness you have and making adaptations as the pregnancy progresses.

Core and pelvic floor are obviously key areas to work on, but you also need to be mindful of areas that are tightening due to postural changes, one example is shoulders being pulled forward from increased breast size!

Holistic Core Restore® Bump addresses all of these issues…. and more……!

Please get in touch if you have any queries about what exercises you should/shouldn’t be doing during your pregnancy, I am happy to advise.
