Fly high!

Strangely I am slightly envious of Jane as well as thousands of other people as they embark on their marathon journey either at Brighton on Sunday or in London in a couple of weeks.

Having done two (very slowly) myself the sense of achievement as you cross the line is out of this world; the hours of training and subsequent pain both physically and mentally are finally over, well nearly and you are rewarded with a huge sense of satisfaction and pride. Running and training for the marathon is only part of the story, think of all the hours that have also gone into fundraising for your chosen charity; I may well be asking for sponsorship this year as I and 3 others endure/enjoy the Oxfam Trailwalker Challenge in July.

I think my marathon days are now over, as Shakira says, “the hips don’t lie” and mine certainly wouldn’t appreciate running 26.2 miles I know this is true for many people, but what could be your “marathon” moment (or 317 moments in my case)? What have you always wanted to achieve?

Make a plan, take action, do yourself proud and then tell the world about it!

Best of luck Jane, enjoy the day, savour the experience and then make sure you have a lovely warm bath to ease those tired muscles.

Keep healthy.
