Ready to run

What’s stopping you?

We all know we need to exercise, we read about it in magazines, we hear it on the radio and we watch news reports stating how we move much less than previous generations.

So, indeed what does stop us from taking action?

Is it a fear of failure?

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts” ~ Winston Churchill

“Many of life’s failures are people who did not realise how close they were to success when they gave up” ~ Thomas Edison

Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently” ~ Henry Ford

“In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure” ~ Bill Cosby

If you are to believe any of these quotes (and I think that you should), failure is definitely not something to be scared of, it is all part of the process of achieving your goals.

Perhaps, despite not having run since childhood, you would like to be able to run 5k decide to join a beginners jogging group and for whatever reason you only actually achieve 3k.

Have you failed? I don’t think so

Could you run before? No

Maybe you didn’t achieve your initial goal YET, but you are a step closer to it than when you first started. In my mind that is definitely reason to celebrate and if you are to take notice of Henry Ford’s thoughts you can use this as an opportunity to begin again, looking at where you can make changes to improve the chance of success in the future.

What have you been wanting to do to improve your health and well-being? Why not make a start on this today? What is stopping you?

I’d love to hear about your journey in achieving this goal, please share your successes (and failures) with me.

Good luck.

Emma
